Yup, it's official! As this article reveals,Yahoo! News - Photos bring our agony into focus, America has lost the high moral ground in this war of liberation. But, pardon me: could somebody please tell me when America ever held the moral high ground in the first bloody place? Lying about weapons of mass destruction, lying about links between terrorists and Saddam Hussein, lying about how much of a threat Hussein posed to the rest of the so-called free world, lying about how this war would bring Iraqis the "liberation" they were so yearning for, lying about how brave and valorous those good ol' boys, the marines, are, lying about the true intentions of this war... is that what you call occupying the moral high ground? Not really, but then again, that's the job of the national media, isn't it? To make sure the public swallows these lies, to make sure the public is frightened enough to believe this bullshit and to make sure everyone thinks the administration is doing such an, oh so good job of the whole thing. So, Rumsfeld may be unemployed by the end of this administration's term [although do people like him ever really lose their jobs? Look at Cheney who went from Halliburton to the White House!], but why on Rumsfeld? Why not sack the lot of them? Bush Jr. isn't going to have that much to worry about, is he? There's always daddy's business partners who can hook him up with a cosy little job, I'm sure. Wolfowitz and Co. will surely be able to hack up some phony, lame-ass plan to start another racist organisation, and let's face it: Cheney's been up for retirement for quite some time now. Let's give the guy what he wants. A nice, comfy villa right in the heart of Baghdad with a huge effigy of his head on the top, like Saddam's only bigger so that the rebel stinger missiles will know where to aim for when they feel like taking ol' Dicky out for walkies among the oh so happily liberated Iraqi population! Moral high ground, my arse. You want moral high ground, you read "The Quiet American" by Graham Greene for a good and thorough history lesson on how the US has been defining its moral high ground since Vietnam! Would somebody please, please, please wake up this nation? Thanks...

A poll conducted by the Independent newspaper and MOP in Great Britain surprisingly revealed that the majority of UK citizens wants British troops to pull out of Iraq. 55% said yes to withdrawal, only 28% said no, and 17% didn't know. That represents a majority of two to one! The Independent speculates whether these results weren't somehow fostered by the revelations of torture of Iraqi prisoners by both US and UK troops. But, what it fails to ask, funnily enough, is how many people in Great Britain actually ever wanted troops "in"!

Yahoo! News - Cheney Defends Rumsfeld, Says 'Get Off His Case'. Poor little Ronald McDonald Bummy Wummy Rumsfeld! Does he want to go to Mummykins and cry? Are all those howwible people fwom the international media being a pain? Are all those howwible, evil Iwaqis not being nice to Wummy? Oh deary, weary me! What a poor little, lovely, sweet boy Rummy is! But, never mind, because Big Daddy Dicky is here to help. Because Big Daddy is a nice big man from the oil industry who knows all about nice, good, godly things like embezzlement, corruption, and how to kill people. In fact, him and Rummy should be in the same class together. Oh, but they are! And now Big Dick says people should let Rummy do his job. Oh, fuck me with a broomstick and tie my fingers to electrodes, but isn't being grilled by we, the people, exactly what politicians should be doing? Or, what did Rumsfeld and Cheney read in the job description? "...in your job as a senior political official, you will be responsible for the mindless slaughter and torture of Middle Eastern citizens..." I must be mistaken, because I thought when a senior defence official sends his boys to war he should not only be ensuring their safety, but according to the Geneva convention also be ensuring the safety and well-being of the enemy prisoners, making sure they are treated humanely, and not in EXACTLY the same way they might have been treated before they were liberated. Funny to think one president nearly has to leave office because of sperm. Yet others who go out and so visibly kill people are actually encouraged to go out and murder other country's citizens get away scot-free to carry on spinning other evil deeds!
